The Board of Directors is the governing body for the Big Lake Economic Development Corporation under the umbrella of the City of Big Lake, Texas.  It is composed of seven (7) members of local citizens, each serving a two (2) year term or until his or her successor is appointed by the City Council.  The EDC Executive Director, EDC Assistant Director, City Administrator and Legal Counsel are also present at all board meetings, however, they shall not vote on any decisions.

The Board President is the Executive Officer for the BLEDC.  He or she presides over all board meeting and functions and administers all board decisions.  As with each Board Member, the President does have the right to vote but must have the Board's approval in all decisions and policies.  The Board Vice-President acts on behalf of the Board President in his or her absence, or in the event of his or her inability to act.  The Board Secretary/Treasure keeps, or causes to be kept a record of the minutes of all meetings of the Board and of any Board committee meetings. He or she shall have charge and custody of and be responsible for all funds and securities of the Corporation.

The BLEDC Board of Directors meet on a regular basis on the 2nd Thursday of each month in the board room of the Big Lake Economic Development Corporation at 309 E. 2nd Street, Big Lake, Texas.  Meeting dates and times may change due to conflict of schedules or holidays.  All meetings are open and the public is encouraged to attend.
